In little while ago, I wrote a post about who you hang out with. I also speak a fair bit about the importance of modelling.
With that in mind and the dream to become ever increasingly successful, I've been looking out for models to take me to that next level. Not that I have anything against men. I am used to male role models for success. This time, I specifically wanted to look for a female role model.
There didn't seem to be many out there - particularly successful women who are also very feminine.
I had to ask if that is a reflection of my beliefs.
Interestingly, I then recalled several periods in my working life where I was felt I had to don the pant suits to be effective in the role. And as hard as it is to admit, it became evident that, even in this day and age, I'd somehow associated success as a man's domain. Good grief!
As I always say, 'success means different things to different people'. Knowing now what success means to me and how I expect that to change in the years to come, I shall resume my search - this time without the blinkers!

ReplyDeleteI would be courious to understand your definition of feminine, as the definition is unique to each of us, is it a style an image, a look, a poise, a lifestyle, an expectation, a combination of things rolled into one.
